In Miami: Seminar equips food importers to meet CBP, FDA rules
It’s become an annual event in Miami. This year’s seminar on importing food to the US, Practical Tools for Trade in the Food Industry, will be held Wednesday, September 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Port of Miami Conference Room, 1015 N. America Way, Miami.
Sponsored by the Miami-Dade County Office of Economic Development & International Trade, and supported by the Port of Miami and Becker & Poliakoff, the seminar focuses on what importers need to know about meeting US Customs and Border Protection and US Food and Drug Administration requirements – with special emphasis on the new rules set by the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2011.
The featured presenter is Peter Quinter, chair of the Customs and International Trade Department of the Becker & Poliakoff law firm (and frequent contributor to the Datamyne blog). Members of the Datamyne team will share insights into the South Florida food import market as revealed by current trade data.
