Port Technology Gauges West Coast Ports’ Rally with Datamyne Stats

The days of slow cargo volumes and operational struggles are long gone, as the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach saw big increases (42% and 32%, respectively) in container throughput this January compared with 2015’s, reports Port Technology, citing Datamyne port rankings.

Much of the huge difference can be attributed to last year’s labor dispute which led to western port shut-downs. It wasn’t until mid-2015 that the ports were able to start boosting monthly volumes.
