Esri Lifts the Veil on Cuban Trade with Datamyne Data

Category: Industry Coverage

With the thaw in US-Cuba relations, Cuban trade deserved a fresh look, says the Esri Insider blog. So Esri, a leader in geographic information software (GIS), took Datamyne’s trade data and created a new story map that provides a clear view of the island nation’s imports, exports and trading partners.

The story map lets us see what has happened in the past, and offers clues to what might happen in the future as the US trade embargo is lifted, according to the Esri Insider. As the story map makes plain, the embargo’s end will impact Cuba’s trade with other countries as well. (Could Canada and the US get into a kerfuffle over soybean exports?)
