MIAMI – September 17, 2014 – Datamyne, a leader in global business intelligence based on multinational trade data, announced that it had completed the acquisition of Manifest Journals, a provider of US Customs data via online reports designed to meet the market research needs of 3PLs, including freight forwarders, logistics services, transport, warehouse and distribution companies.

“Datamyne aims to deliver the most expansive and multifaceted coverage of world trade available,” says Datamyne CEO Brendan McCahill. “We work continuously to expand our data assets and to develop database access and analysis tools that are useful across the full range of commercial applications.”

“Our Manifest Journals acquisition scores on both counts – expanding our coverage and adding useful tools,” McCahill continues. “We have long regarded Manifest Journals as a strong contender and innovator – particularly in tailoring their user experience for the specialized needs of freight forwarders.”

Manifest Journals offers added-value trade data fields that yield finely detailed descriptions of shipments – for example, whether bills of lading identify shipments of full containers, less than container loads, even buyer/vendor consolidated shipments. They also have created tools, such as side-by-side comparisons of Master and House bills of lading, that are very useful to the freight forwarding sector.

Datamyne Chair Jonathan Wendell adds: “By combining our intellectual capital and other resources, we will enhance our leadership position in quality, technology and customer service. We are especially pleased to have Manifest Journals’ talented founder join Datamyne’s senior management team.”

Concurs Aetius Rossa, who founded Manifest Journals in 2004, “We are excited to leverage the opportunities of scale and technical collaboration this combination creates for our customers as well as Datamyne’s. We’ve only begun to explore the potential for enhanced user experience and product line extensions. Stay tuned.”
