Coverage of US FTA partner begins with data on 2016 trade

MIAMI – October 28, 2014 – Datamyne, a leading provider of global market intelligence based on trade data, has expanded its international database to cover the import-export trade of Australia.

The latest acquisition for Datamyne’s searchable trade database, the world’s largest, is sourced from the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Data will be updated monthly, with the records of transactions occurring two months earlier.

Datamyne subscribers will have online access to data on Australian cross-border commerce starting with January 2016 import and export transactions. Data fields include reported Harmonized System (HS) tariff codes from 2- to 6-digits as well as HS descriptions; shipment values, volumes and method of transport; country of origin, purchase or departure; and places of arrival or departure.

The underlying records can be accessed for transaction-level detail. (See the sample Detail Record below.)

A free-trade agreement links Australia and the US; trade between the two countries totaled US$36 billion in 2015. The US is a net exporter to this market, with civilian aircraft and automobiles leading the list of US$25 billion in products shipped to the land down under. Beef – frozen, fresh or chilled – ranked first among US imports from Australia last year, accounting for 23% of US$11 billion in total imports.
Datamyne is providing free online demonstrations of its new data acquisition. Demos may be booked at https://www.datamyne.com/request-an-online-demo/.
