New platform crunches unlimited records for a big picture analysis of US import-export trade

MIAMI – October 21, 2013 – Datamyne has launched a highly enhanced platform for search and analysis of its flagship database of US Maritime bills of lading.

Making use of Apache Solr* technology, Datamyne has ended the limit on the number of trade records that can be totaled (previously, no more than 30,000 records could be totaled at a time) while fine-tuning the controls over time intervals to be researched.

Moreover, the expanded functionality works at a revved-up speed.

“Datamyne’s new research platform for US import-export bill of lading data provides unlimited scope, precision-targeting and high-speed delivery of results so users can see big picture trade trends in seconds,” says Lisa Wallerstein, Datamyne’s vice president of marketing.  “We believe we have a game-changer here – for us, and for our customers.”

The new platform enables:

  • totaling an unlimited number of trade records returned in a database search by a range of criteria, including by product, by importer or exporter, by port, by carrier, or by country of origin;
  • totaling search results by month, for month-over-month trending;
  • specifying a set number of days for month-over-month comparisons of equivalent duration.

Datamyne subscribers will automatically benefit from the turbo-charged speed and the ability to total by month. The unlimited totaling and the ability to specify a set number of days per month are offered as premium features, available for an additional fee.
