Covering trade & transport, with tips on using import-export data to advantage

Rates Are Running First…

Category: Exports, Transport

… but there’s still time to weigh in on what matters most to shippers

by Bill Armbruster, blog anchor

“Rates are the golden fleece. It determines whether or not you will be awarded a piece of business,” comments one respondent in our survey on top considerations for shippers when they choose an ocean carrier. Most would agree according to the survey results thus far: Rates garnered 39% of the first-place votes, followed closely by reliability with 33%. Vessel space is next, with 19%.

If you haven’t voted yet, there’s still time: Our deadline is Wednesday, December 22.

You don’t have to be a shipper to participate. Anyone involved in ocean shipping can vote. Please feel free to add your comments. We want to hear what you think! Click here to go to the survey.

I’ll report the final results along with my analysis after the start of the new year … a year I hope holds peace and prosperity for all. Happy Holidays!
