Datamyne Expands Data Coverage to Russian Import-Export Trade

Latest acquisition brings Datamyne coverage to over 70% of the world’s trade

MIAMI – May 13, 2014 – Datamyne has expanded its searchable database of international trade, the world’s largest such database, to include the Russian Federation’s import and export transactions.

The new trade data is sourced from the declarations filed with Russia’s Federal Customs Service. Data fields are derived from reported Harmonized System (HS) tariff codes and ISO country codes – enabling value or volume rankings of data by product (2-, 4-, 6-, 8- or 10 digit HS codes); country of origin, purchase or departure; and by port of arrival or departure.

The underlying declarations can be accessed directly for importer or exporter names as well as product descriptions. (See the sample Detail Record below.) This additional detail is in the original Russian. Datamyne offers custom research services that include translation for an additional fee.

Datamyne is launching its Russian data with a complete year of transactions from January through December 2013, the first full year of Russian Federation trade since its accession to the World Trade Organization in August 2012. Going forward, the Russian database will be updated each month with data from the month that ended three months earlier. Thus, January 2014 data will be released in April 2014.

Datamyne is offering free online demonstrations of its new data acquisition. The demo includes creating a free sample report on Russian trade. Demos may be booked at https://www.datamyne.com/request-an-online-demo/.
