About 40% of the exhibitors at next week’s Hospitalar healthcare fair in Brazil will be from foreign countries – recognition of the strength of demand for imports in the country’s US$167-billion healthcare market.
The US Commercial Service will be at Hospitalar to provide US companies with its business matchmaking Gold Key Service – a sign of the importance of the Brazilian healthcare market to US exporters of medical products, services and technologies.
Now in its 21st year, Hospitalar is billed as the most important healthcare fair for the Latin American market. The multi-sector fair last year drew over 90,000 attendees to São Paulo which, as the Hospitalar website describes, “concentrates 65% of the Brazilian consumption market and plays an important role in the healthcare industry, acting as a pioneering city in providing first-class medical services.”

Brazil is also the top-ranked South American market for US medical devices, accounting for 49% of US exports in this category to the continent last year.
