Top sources, consignees, carriers, ports for U.S. imports of the product from China
Last week, we wrote about how it can take time for the Harmonized System of tariff codes to catch up with new-to-market products – our case in point: bamboo flooring, which was introduced in the 1990s, selling briskly by the ’00s, but didn’t get its own HS tariff codes until 2007. We noted that a search of Datamyne’s bill-of-lading database for “bamboo flooring” could produce a good deal of market information, and offered as a sample the top 10 shipping the product from China in 2010. We found out more that didn’t make the final story, including the top consignees (companies taking delivery on the imports) … and thought that, rather than leave it on the cutting room floor, we’d put it together in a free report you can download here.
