Coverage of leading US trading partner begins with data on 2012 and 2013 trade

MIAMI – May 14, 2014 – Datamyne announced that it will be offering online access to data on the import-export trade of Canada, the US’s top export market, second-ranked source for imports and NAFTA partner (with Mexico, whose trade is also covered by Datamyne).

The latest acquisition for Datamyne’s searchable trade database, the world’s largest, will be sourced from Statistics Canada, the Canadian government department charged with collecting, compiling, and analyzing the country’s economic and social statistics.

Data fields include reported Harmonized System (HS) tariff codes from 2- to 10-digits as well as HS descriptions; shipment values, volumes and method of transport; country of origin, purchase or departure; and places of arrival or departure.

The underlying records can be accessed for transaction-level detail. (See the sample Detail Record below.)

The new offering will be launched with data for two complete calendar years, 2012 and 2013. The data will be updated quarterly, with each new quarter’s data becoming available about 45 days after the quarter’s end. Thus first-quarter 2014 data will be published May 15.

Datamyne is providing free online demonstrations of its new data acquisition. The demo includes creating a free sample report on Canadian trade. Demos may be booked at https://www.datamyne.com/request-an-online-demo/.
