It was 10 years ago that Datamyne officially launched as a US-based business with headquarters in Miami, Fla.
Our launch pad was the innovative South American import-export data business started in 1992 by Pablo Milburn (an Endeavor High-Impact Entrepreneur) with coverage of Uruguay’s trade that soon expanded to all four of the Mercosur trade bloc’s founding members (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, as well as Uruguay). He helped develop our original drag-and-drop UI. Our newest platform, Datamyne 3.0 continues our mission of making it simple and easy to do complex database searches and analyses. Also favoring the US start-up’s success was (and is) our Montevideo data center for data collection and processing operations that is (unique among trade data providers) certified compliant with ISO 9001:2008 standards of quality management systems and processes.
Still, our success was far from assured: the US is the most competitive market for providers of trade data-driven business intelligence and we’ve worked hard to be among the top-ranked.
We deliver our most-often-sought data – US import bill of lading data – first to the marketplace, with the details of shipments, including cargo descriptions and the names of importing companies and foreign suppliers, available online 24 hours after receipt from Customs. And, since 2012, we’ve linked the names of companies on both sides of US import and export trade with comprehensive Profiles including D&B D-U-N-S* Numbers, business demographics and contact info, with links to latest news and social media. This year, we are introducing Profiles of companies in LatAm trade.
We launched in the US with the largest searchable database of international trade records … and we’ve maintained our leadership in data assets through the decade.
Datamyne has expanded its trade database coverage to include the trade of the US NAFTA partners Canada and Mexico, 16 countries in Central and South America, the EU member nations, as well as China, India, Japan, Russia, South Korea and South Africa. Taken together, these countries (they’re all listed here) account for nearly three-quarters of all global trade based on WTO-UNCTAD statistics.
Most important, we’ve made personalized service to our customers the centerpiece of our growth strategy. Each of our customers can count on a dedicated account team (and that includes a real live person at the end of the telephone line when you need him or her) to assure that they get the most out of our data resources and analytical tools. For each of us on the Datamyne team, it is truly a pleasure to serve our customers … and we thank them all for making this an anniversary to celebrate.
