Story maps created on ArcGIS platform with Datamyne trade data to be featured at Esri User Conference, Booth 2414, San Diego, June 27-July 1

MIAMI – June 27, 2016 – Datamyne will demonstrate how ArcGIS can be used – via a new API developed by GIS WebTech – to map US importers, exporters, foreign suppliers, and their trade activities at the Esri User Conference in San Diego, Booth 2414, June 27-July 1.

Datamyne US import-export data is the latest available and the most granular, supplying the details of the US companies that buy and sell overseas, their products in trade, country markets, logistics, shipment volumes and values. With ArcGIS, this data can be visualized in maps that capture the geographic relationships of the parties to the trade and the flows of inbound and outbound shipments.

“With the GIS WebTech API, ArcGIS users can access Datamyne data to get a clear picture of the dynamics of cross-border commerce,” says Brendan McCahill, Datamyne CEO. “They can layer in their own datasets to tell a detailed story about their markets over time.”

Datamyne’s Esri UC exhibit will feature story maps created for the Center for International Trade Development (CITD) that illustrate how trade contributes to economic development in the California Central Valley.

“Using Datamyne’s trade data on our story map showcases the value global trade brings to the local economy,” says Jeanette Benson, Director for CITD. “Traditional sources of data do not detail employment and job titles tied directly to local companies involved in exporting and importing. Combining data sources, we are better equipped to serve multiple stakeholders enrich their economy.”
