iDatamyne delivers the latest data on US import shipments for free

MIAMI – June 2, 2011 Datamyne has launched an application for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch that enables users to access and search the latest available data on US import trade.

The iDatamyne app is available for free from the iTunes store at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/idatamyne/id439724759?mt=8&ls=1, or by searching “Datamyne” at the App Store.

A top source of information on cargos, markets and trading partners drawn from the world’s largest searchable trade database, Datamyne is the first of the US trade data providers to offer free access via an iPhone app.

The new app supports simple searches of the most in-demand segment of trade data: the most recent US import shipments as documented in bills of lading. App users can:

  • Search for a trade commodity — “shrimp” or “grapes,” for instance — and see the latest incoming shipments.
  • View details of the bills of lading for the latest shipments, including the parties to the transaction, port of arrival, country of departure, product description, and shipment weight in metric tons.
  • Get current top 5 rankings for US imports, including top ports of arrival, countries of origin, carriers, and importers, based on year-to-date data, along with the preceding 3 years.

The iDatamyne app also links to Datamyne’s Twitter feed and blog postings on international trade, discussing ways in which trade data can be used to turn market developments into business advantage.

Users can request more information about trade data relevant to their businesses or request a demo of Datamyne’s full product suite via the new app.
