Lower Volumes at NY-NJ Due to Hanjin – Transport Topics

The Port of New York and New Jersey reported a drop in container traffic in September 2016 versus a year ago, Transport Topics reports.

The decline can be attributed primarily to the Hanjin bankruptcy and the COSCO-China Shipping merger, say a NY-NJ port spokesman. Datamyne figures – Hanjin Shipping unloaded 12% of its containers at the port in 2016 – are cited.
